Importance and distribution

Ormathodium comprises two species. Ormathodium bombycinum is known on living branches of Pernettya mucronata (Ericaceae) in South America (Argentina). Ormathodium styracis is reported on leaves of Styrax argenteus (Styracaceae) in Central America (Costa Rica). Ormathodium ambrosiae has been transferred to Mycovellosiella and O. costaricense has been transferred to Pirozynskiella.
