Importance and distribution

Neoseptoria comprises only one species known on leaves of Carex acutiformis (Cyperaceae) in Europe (Netherlands). Neoseptoria is foliicolous and can inhabit the host as an asymptomatic mutualist, benign commensal or latent pathogen (Dubey and Pandey 2019).
