Importance and distribution
Species of Caryophylloseptoria are Septoria-like pathogens causing leaf and fruit spot diseases (Crous et al. 2013). Caryophylloseptoria comprises four species known on four host plants within Caryophyllaceae and the genus has been reported mainly from Asia (South Korea) and Europe (Austria, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands).
