Camptomeris Syd., Annls mycol. 25(1/2): 14 (1927).

Index Fungorum number: IF 7480; Facesoffungi number: FoF 08586, 10 morphological species (Species Fungorum 2022), no molecular data available.

Associated with leaf spot. Sexual morph: Unknown. Asexual morph: Sporodochia mostly hypophyllous, pulvinate, punctiform, dark olivaceous brown to black. Mycelium immersed. Stroma present with one or several swollen cells bearing conidiophores. Conidiophores macronematous, often curved inwards, simple, smooth, pale brown to brown. Conidiogenous cells integrated, terminal, cylindrical, proliferating sympodially, polyblastic, with prominent conidiogenous loci (scars).  Type species: Camptomeris calliandrae Syd.

Notes: Camptomeris is characterised by hypophyllous, pulvinate sporodochia, macronematous, often curved conidiophores and solitary, acropleurogenous, pale olivaceous brown or brown conidia. Camptomeris was referred to Mycosphaerellaceae based on its cercosporoid nature. Camptomeris lacks molecular data and is not known from culture. The placement of Camptomeris in Mycosphaerellaceae is doubtful.
