Haudseptoria Crous & R.K. Schumach., in Crous et al., Fungal Systematics and Evolution 7: 292 (2021).

Index Fungorum number: IF 839287; Facesoffungi number: FoF 11953, 1 morphological species (Species Fungorum 2022), 1 species with molecular data.

Saprobic on host. Sexual morph: Unknown. Asexual morph: Conidiomata pycnidial, erumpent to semi-superficial, dark brown, globose, with central ostiole; wall in upper region of brown textura angularis, in lower region of pale brown cells, concolorous with host tissue. Conidiophores reduced to conidiogenous cells, ampulliform to subcylindrical, smooth, proliferating sympodially at apex. Conidia solitary, hyaline, smooth, guttulate, subcylindrical, apex subobtuse, base truncate, transversely 1–7-septate (adapted from Crous et al. 2021).

Type species: Haudseptoria typhae Crous & R.K. Schumach.

Notes: Haudseptoria is characterised by pycnidial, erumpent to semi-superficial conidiomata, ampulliform to subcylindrical, smooth conidiophores and solitary, hyaline, smooth, guttulate, subcylindrical conidia. Haudseptoria is morphologically and phylogenetically a distinct and well-defined genus in Monoblastiaceae. Molecular markers available for Haudseptoria include ITS, LSU and BTUB.
