Importance and distribution

Xylomyces comprises eight species known on submerged decaying and rotten leaves, rotten wood in tidal river water, on leaves of Quercus oleoides subsp. sagrana (Fagaceae) and on washed-up prop root of Rhizophora mangle (Rhizophoraceae) in Asia (Hong Kong), Australia (Queensland), North America (Caribbean (Cuba), the United States), Europe (Martinique Island, Ukraine) and South America (Brazil).
