Importance and distribution
Translucidithyrium comprises only one species known on living leaves of Syzygium levinei (Myrtaceae) in Asia (Thailand). It is saprobic and can form black hyphae coating the surface of plants, reducing the photosynthetic ability of plants through the hyphal cover (Gilbert & Reynolds 2002).
