Importance and distribution
There are 21 species epithet of Chaetothyrina in Index Fungorum (2022), but some species have been transferred to Johansonia and Microcallis. Chaetothyrina comprises 15 species known from 14 host plants within 13 families namely, Apocynaceae, Celastraceae, Chrysobalanaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Fagaceae, Gelsemiaceae, Lauraceae, Magnoliaceae, Moraceae, Musaceae, Myrtaceaem, Salicaceae and Vochysiaceae. Chaetothyrina is known from Asia (India, Thailand), Central America (Costa Rica), South America (Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Uruguay) and the United States.
