Tomasellia arthonioides

Importance and distribution

Twelve species of Tomasellia have been transferred to Anisomeridium, Celothelium, Constrictolumina, Granulopyrenis, Melanothecopsis, Mycomicrothelia and Mycoporum. Tomasellia comprises six species known on Alnus sp. (Betulaceae), Cocos nucifera (Arecaceae), Corylus sp. (Betulaceae), dead culms of Pleioblastus sp. (Poaceae), Fraxinus ornus (Oleaceae), Ilex sp. (Aquifoliaceae), Prunus padus (Rosaceae), Sasa senanensis (Poaceae) and Sorbus aucuparia (Rosaceae). Tomasellia is reported from Asia (Japan), Europe (Sweden, Italy, New Caledonia, United Kingdom) and South America (Brazil).
