Importance and distribution
Rhytidenglerula comprises nine species known on living leaves of Persea palustris (Lauraceae), leaves of Homalanthus populifolius (Euphorbiaceae), colonies of Irenina glabra (Sapindaceae), Landolphia ugandensis (Apocynaceae), leaves of Solanum pulverulentum (Solanaceae), Macaranga tanarius (Euphorbiaceae) and Trema micrantha (Cannabaceae). Rhytidenglerula is reported from Africa (Congo, Uganda), Asia (Philippines), Australia, South America (Brazil) and The United States (Florida).
