Importance and distribution
Trichometasphaeria comprises four species known on leaves and stems of Waldheimia tridactylites (Asteraceae), rotten leaves and stems of Carex davalliana (Cyperaceae), decorticated branches of Pentaphylloides fruticosa (Rosaceae), dead stems of Leontodon hispidus (Asteraceae) and decorticated wood of Populus angustifolia (Salicaceae). Trichometasphaeria is reported from Asia (China), Europe (Austria, Denmark, Kazakhstan) and The United States (Colorado).
