Saprobic on host. Sexual morph: Perithecia globose, immersed, black. Paraphyses gelatinous glued together. Ascospores in flattened asci-clavate numerous, ellipsoid, simple, black dots. Asexual morph: Unknown (adapted from Eriksson and Hawksworth 1986).
Type species: Rosellinula haplospora (Th. Fr. & Almq.) R. Sant.
Notes: Rosellinula is characterised by globose, immersed, black perithecia, numerous clavate, ellipsoid, simple ascospores. Lumbsch and Huhndorf (2010), Kirk et al. (2013), and Wijayawardene et al. (2017, 2020) listed Rosellinula in Dothideomycetes genera incertae sedis. Molecular data is lacking. Fresh collections with DNA sequence data are needed to confirm the systematic position of Rosellinula.
