Type species: Plenotrichaius swartziae Bat. & Valle

Notes: Information regarding Plenotrichaius is scarce. Kirk et al. (2013) and Wijayawardene et al. (2017, 2020) treated Plenotrichaius in Dothideomycetes genera incertae sedis. The asexual morph is coelomycetous and the sexual morph is unknown. Molecular data is lacking. Fresh collections with DNA sequence data are needed to confirm the systematic position of Plenotrichaius.
