Importance and distribution

Philonectria comprises seven species known on Artabotrys nitidus (Annonaceae), Asterina (Asterinaceae), leaves of Glycosmis pentaphylla (Rutaceae), living leaves of Mimusops balata var. domingensis (Sapotaceae), on Meliolaceae, on leaves of Garuga pinnata (Burseraceae) and stroma of Aschersonia turbinata (Clavicipitaceae). Philonectria is reported from Africa (Uganda), Asia (India), Caribbean (Dominican Republic) and South America (Brazil).
