Mycoglaena subcoerulescens

Mycoglaena subcoerulescens (Nyl.) Höhn., Sber. Akad. Wiss. Wien, Math. -naturw. Kl., Abt. 1 118: 1211 (1909).

Importance and distribution

There are 14 Mycoglaena epithets in Index Fungorum (2022), but three species have been transferred to Arthopyrenia, Thyridella and Winterina. Mycoglaena comprises 11 species known on Abies amabilis (Pinaceae), Alnus sp. (Betulaceae), Athyrium filix-femina (Athyriaceae), Betula sp. (Betulaceae), Cedar (Pinaceae), Dryopteris filix-mas (Dryopteridaceae), Myrica sp. (Myricaceae) and Pinus sp. (Pinaceae). Mycoglaena is reported from North America (Canada, the United States) and Europe (Portugal, Sweden, United Kingdom).
