 Type species: Lophiella cristata (Pers.) Sacc.

Notes: The type species of Lophiella, L. cristata, was treated as a synonym of Lophiostoma angustilabrum var. crenatum (Pers.) Chesters & A.E. Bell (see http://www.indexFungorum. org/names/Names.asp). Lumbsch and Huhndorf (2010) and Kirk et al. (2013) accepted Lophiella in Lophiostomataceae. Wijayawardene et al. (2017, 2020) listed Lophiella in Dothideomycetes genera incertae sedis. Fresh collections with DNA sequence data are needed to confirm the above synonymy and the systematic position of Lophiella.
