Importance and distribution
There are fourteen Leptomeliola epithets in Index Fungorum (2022), but some have been transferred to Meliola. Currently, there are thirteen Leptomeliola species known on ten host plants in Annonaceae, Hypericaceae, Hypnaceae, Lauraceae, Mniaceae, Ptilidiaceae, Scapaniaceae and Theaceae. Leptomeliola has been reported from Asia (Java, Philippines), Europe (France, Romania), South America (Brazil) and the United States (Florida).
