Importance and distribution
There are five records of Hyalocrea in Index Fungorum (2022), but three species have been transferred to Paranectriella. Hyalocrea species morphologically show some similarities to the genus Calonectria, Paranectria and Paranectriella (Hyde et al. 2013). Hyalocrea epimyces is known from stroma of Catacauma elmeri (Phyllachoraceae) in Asia (Philippines) and H. jasmini was found on Jasminum dichotomum (Oleaceae) in Africa (Uganda).
