Importance and distribution
Dawsophila comprises three species known on Rhododendron ponticum (Ericaceae) in Europe (Bulgaria). Dawsophila was found on leaves of Dawsonia sp. and Polytrichadelphus magellanicus both within the family Polytrichaceae. Dawsophila is reported from Oceania (New Zealand, Papua New Guinea) and South America (Argentina).
