Importance and distribution

Byssogene comprises two species. Byssogene amboinensis is reported from Eugenia sp. (Myrtaceae) in Asia (Indonesia (Ambon Islands)) while B. wilsoniae was found from Dimorphandra wilsonii (Fabaceae) in South America (Brazil).
