Importance and distribution

Balladyna comprises thirty-five species. Although forty-nine epithets have been listed in Balladyna in Index Fungorum (2022), many species have been transferred to Balladynocallia, Balladynopsis, Dysrhynchis, Pseudolembosia and Thrauste. Balladyna species are distributed among thirty-one plant hosts in Anacardiaceae, Annonaceae, Celastraceae, Euphorbiaceae, Lamiaceae, Loganiaceae, Poaceae, Rubiaceae, Urticaceae. Balladyna is known from Africa (Congo, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Uganda), Asia (Taiwan, India, Japan, Java, Philippines), Australia (New South Wales, Queensland), Caribbean (Puerto Rico) and South America (Brazil, Ecuador).
