Macrographa

Macrographa Etayo, in Etayo & Sancho, Biblthca Lichenol. 98: 116 (2008).

Index Fungorum number: IF 532867; Facesoffungi number: FoF 06896, 1 morphological species (Species Fungorum 2022), no molecular data available.

See Etayo and Sancho (2008).

Type species: Macrographa antarctica Etayo

Notes: Macrographa is characterised by multiloculate ascostromata, ellipsoidal-fusiform asci anduniseptate ascospores (Wu et al. 2011). Lumbsch and Huhndorf (2010) placed Macrographa in Microthyriaceae. Wu et al. (2011) suggested its placement in Trichothyriaceae based on its fungicolous lifestyle. Macrographa is morphologically a distinct genus in Trichothyriaceae but lacks sequence data. Fresh collections with DNA sequence data are needed to confirm the correct taxonomic placement of the genus.
