Importance and distribution
Protoscypha comprises two species. Protoscypha pulla is known on living leaves of Miconia thomasiana (Melastomataceae) in Central America (Costa Rica). Protoscypha subtropica was found on Bagnisiopsis species (Melastomataceae) in Caribbean (Dominican Republic) and South America (Ecuador).
