Phaeodimeriella parvula

Importance and distribution

There are thirty-eight Phaeodimeriella epithets in Index Fungorum (2022), but some have been transferred to Acantharia, Antennularia, Asterina, Balladyna, Chevalieropsis, Dimerium, Episphaerella and Protoventuria. Species of Phaeodimeriella are recorded on seventeen host plants in Apocynaceae, Asteraceae, Cannabaceae, Clethraceae, Dilleniaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Grossulariaceae, Lamiaceae, Malvaceae, Menispermaceae, Metteniusaceae, Phyllocladaceae, Piperaceae, Rubiaceae and Solanaceae. Phaeodimeriella is reported from Africa (Eastern Cape Province, Uganda), Asia (Philippines, Thailand), Australia (Queensland, Tasmania), Central America (Costa Rica), North America (Caribbean (Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico), the United States) and South America (Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay).
