Parodiella perisporioides

Importance and distribution

There are 49 Parodiella epithets in Index Fungorum (2022), but several species have been transferred to Coleroa, Dothidotthia, Epipolaeum, Gibbera, Henningsomyces, Parodiellina, Perisporiopsis, Phyllachora, Pseudomeliola, Pseudoparodia and Rhizotexis. Parodiella comprises 23 species known on various plants such as Aeschynomene nyassana, Alysicarpus sp., Chapmannia floridana, Crotalaria anagyroides, Desmodium adscendens, Indigofera sp., Phaseolus lunatus var. macrocarpus, Psoralea sp., Vigna luteola, Zornia diphylla all within family Fabaceae. Parodiella is reported from Africa (Zimbabwe), Asia (India), North America (Caribbean (Puerto Rico), the United States (Florida, Montana, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Virgin Islands).
