Importance and distribution
Paranectriella comprises eight species parasitic on Asterina (Asterinaceae), Hemileia (Pucciniales), leaves of Berlinia (Fabaceae), leaves of Miconia (Melastomataceae), Meliola sp. (Meliolaceae), Paullinia pinnata (Sapindaceae), Piper umbellatum (Piperaceae) and parasitic on stroma of Auerswaldia miconiae (Melastomataceae). Paranectriella is reported from Africa (Tanzania, Uganda), South America (Brazil) and the United States (Puerto Rico).
