Importance and distribution

There are eight Palawania epithets in Index Fungorum (2022), but five species have been transferred to Inocyclus and Palawaniella. Palawania comprises three species. Palawania cocoes is known on dead spathes of Cocos nucifera (Arecaceae) in Asia (Philippines). Palawania grandis is reported on dry scales of Calamus (Acoraceae) in Asia (India-West Bengal) while P. thailandensis is known on dead rachis of Dypsis lutescens (Arecaceae) in Asia (Thailand).
