Importance and distribution
The type species Argynna polyhedron is mentioned as ‘lost’. Argynna comprises only one species known on old trunks of Juglans (Juglandaceae) in The United States (South Carolina). Shearer et al. (1980) reported a dried culture isolated from a log and grown on corn stalks in The United States (Missouri).
