Importance and distribution

Dictyodothis comprises eight species known as saprobes on eight host plants and six plant families namely Berberidaceae, Fabaceae, Magnoliaceae, Malvaceae, Melastomataceae and Oleaceae. Dictyodothis has been reported mainly from Asia (India), South America (Brazil, Chile) and the United States.
