Importance and distribution

Lawreya comprises only one species known on Glyphis scyphulifera (Graphidaceae) growing on Lagerstroemia twigs in the United States. It is lichenicolous and obtains fixed carbon from living lichen host (Lawrey and Diederich 2003).
