Incertomyces

Incertomyces Egidi & Zucconi, in Crous et al., Fungal Systematics and Evolution 3: 127 (2019).

Index Fungorum number: IF 829400; Facesoffungi number: FoF 07014, 1 morphological species (Species Fungorum 2022), 1 species with molecular data.

Sexual morph: Unknown. Asexual morph: Colonies growing slowly, hyphae thick-walled, enteroblastically proliferating, torulose, septate and cylindrical in later stages producing pyriform or reniform arthroconidia, mostly with a median septum (adapted from Egidi et al. 2014).

 

Type species: Incertomyces perditus Egidi & Zucconi

 

Notes: Incertomyces is characterised by enteroblastically proliferating, torulose colonies and pyriform or reniform arthroconidia. Incertomyces lacks a complete morphology and is known only from the hyphal structure. Incertomyces is a distinct and well-supported genus in Teratosphaeriaceae. Molecular markers available for Incertomyces are ITS, LSU, BTUB and RPB2.
