Importance and distribution
Apenidiella comprises three species. Apenidiella antarctica was isolated from permafrost, A. foetida on submerged plant debris and A. strumelloidea on leaves of Carex (Cyperaceae) from stagnant water. Apenidiella is reported mainly from Asia (Russia) and Europe (Spain).
