Importance and distribution

Readerielliopsis comprises two species. R. fuscoporiae is known from basidiomata of Fuscoporia wahlbergii (Hymenochaetaceae) while R. guyanensis is known from decaying leaf of an angiosperm in Europe (France-French Guiana). Readerielliopsis plays a role in breakdown of dead organic matter and maintains the nutrient cycle in the ecosystem.
