Species of Polyphialoseptoria are pathogenic and cause disease on host substrate.

There is currently no industrial application of Polyphialoseptoria.
No biocontrol agent from Polyphialoseptoria has been identified so far. Being pathogenic, they may have potential in biocontrol purposes. Further studies are needed.

Diversity of the genus
Polyphialoseptoria comprises three species known on two host plants and plat family namely Bignoniaceae and Combretaceae. Polyphialoseptoria is reported from Minas Gerais and South Africa. More species of Polyphialoseptoria can be discovered in future studies.
