Importance and distribution

Although there are 19 Rachicladosporium epithets in Index Fungorum (2022), the actual number of species is less as some have been synonymized. Rachicladosporium comprises 13 species known on six host plants and four plant families namely Malvaceae, Myrtaceae, Pinaceae and Rubiaceae. Rachicladosporium is reported mainly from Africa (Ethiopia, Ghana), Antarctica, Europe (Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand and the United States (Virginia), associated with leaf spots.
