Importance and distribution

According to Species Fungorum (2022), Eriosporella comprises two species. Eriosporella bambusicola has been reported on leaves of bamboo (Poaceae) in Asia (Thailand) while E. calami has been reported from leaves of Acorus calamus (Acoraceae) in Asia (India). Disease from Eriosporella has also been reported on bambusa sp. namely Bambusa blumeana (Poaceae), Bambusa vulgaria (Dayan 1988) and on Gigantochloa levis, G. aspera (Poaceae) in Asia (Philippines) (Mohanan 1997).
