Importance and distribution

Anariste comprises only one species known on leaves of Phoebe neurophylla (Lauraceae) in Central America (Costa Rica). It is epiphytic and forms black spots on the surface of leaves causing chlorosis or plant-stunting (Chomnunti et al. 2014).
