Importance and distribution
There are eight Phyllachorella epithets in Index Fungorum (2022), but six species have been transferred to Haloguignardia, Phyllachora, Phyllosticta, Rikatlia and Vestergrenia. Phyllachorella comprises two species known on leaves of Michelia sp. (Magnoliaceae) in Asia (India, Taiwan) and on leaves of Schistocarpha hoffmannii (Asteraceae) in Asia (Taiwan) and Central America (Costa Rica).
