Stictographa
Stictographa Mudd, Man. Brit. Lich.: 226 (1861).
Index Fungorum number: IF 5238; Facesoffungi number: FoF 07617, 1 morphological species (Species Fungorum 2022), 1 species with molecular data.
Lichenicolous on host. Sexual morph: Thallus crustaceous uniform, hypothallus brownish black. Apothecia at first closed, becoming linear-oblong, or lirellaeform sessile; margined by an incurved carbonaceous proper exciple; thalamium arising from a carbonaceous simple hypothecium. Asci obovato-clavate, 8-spored. Ascospores irregularly obovate, or oblong bilocular colored. Asexual morph: Unknown (adapted from Mudd 1861).
Type species: Stictographa lentiginosa (Lyell ex Leight.) Mudd
Notes: Stictographa resembles Labrocarpon in having lichenicolous, black, simple to occasionally short, branched, lirelliform ascomata with a slit-like opening but are phylogenetically distant (Ertz & Diederich 2015, Diederich et al. 2018). Sanderson et al. (2009) mentioned that the type of S. lentiginosa has ascomata which are I+ and K/I+ blue, then turning orange hymenium. Stictographa is currently a distinct and the type genus of Stictographaceae. Molecular data available for Stictographa are LSU and SSU.
