Importance and distribution

Echidnodella comprises 33 species known on several host plants in Annonaceae, Aquifoliaceae, Asparagaceae, Dryopteridaceae, Ericaceae, Lauraceae, Myrsinaceae, Primulaceae and Rubiaceae. Echidnodella has been reported from Asia (Japan, Java), South Africa (Gauteng), South America (Colombia, Venezuela) and The United States (Florida, Mississippi, Puerto Rico). Two species previously in Echidnodella were transferred to Echidnodes and Lembosina. DNA sequence data is needed for this genus.
