Cirsosia manaosensis

Importance and distribution

Cirsosia comprises 15 species known on Calamus sp. (Acoraceae), Chrysobalanus icaco (Chrysobalanaceae), Clonodia verrucosa (Malpighiaceae), Dipterocarpus tuberculatus (Dipterocarpaceae), Flabellaria paniculata (Malpighiaceae), Hirtella americana (Chrysobalanaceae), Humboldtia vahliana (Fabaceae), Licania tomentosa (Chrysobalanaceae) and Moquilea tomentosa (Chrysobalanaceae). Cirsosia is reported from Africa (Ghana), Asia (India, Malaysia, Myanmar), South America (Brazil, Panama) and The United States (Puerto Rico). More collections are needed as molecular data is lacking.
