Batistinula is epiphytic forming black hyphae coating the surface of plants (Hongsanan et al. 2014). Batistinula comprises only one species originally described from living leaves of Gallesia gorazema (Phytolaccaceae) in South America (Brazil (Pernambuco)) and recorded by Guatimosim et al. (2015) from living leaves of Caesalpinia echinata (Fabaceae) collected in South America (Espírito Santo (Brazil)).
